Little Thinking Publishing is the children’s strand of our School of Writing – a Children’s Book Printing Service in the UK created for young writers, families, and schools who want to print books made by pupils.
The focus is on small projects: a single children’s story, a short collection, or a class anthology. We support you through light editing, design and formatting, and a small print run that puts real copies in young writers’ hands. Families can use our £150 basic package, while schools can choose from dedicated Bronze (£295), Silver (£495) and Gold (£995) packages.

The Little Thinking basic package for families – £150
Our basic Children’s Book Printing Service UK package is designed to be simple, clear, and affordable for families and individual young writers. For £150, you receive:
10 printed copies
A short print run of 10 physical copies of your children’s book – ideal for family, friends, family members, or to proudly shelve in your classrooms.
Simple interior layout
We’ll create a clean layout for your pages. If you already have illustrations, we’ll place them within the book; if not, we’ll use a simple text layout that still feels special.
Amazon listing guidance
Step-by-step guidance on how to list your book on Amazon (if you’d like to), covering basic set-up, metadata, pricing considerations and what to expect.

Packages for schools
For primary and secondary schools who want to celebrate pupils’ writing with a professionally printed anthology, we offer three structured packages.
Bronze package – £295
Ideal for a single class or small group. Includes a focused creative writing workshop and a printed anthology of pupils’ work.
Silver package – £495
A larger project for a class or year group. Includes extended workshop time, extra guidance on editing, and a larger print run of the finished anthology.
Gold package – £995
Our most comprehensive option, designed for bigger cohorts or whole-school projects. Includes more in-depth support and a generous allocation of printed copies.

Young writers, families, schools & groups
Little Thinking Publishing is for anyone who wants to encourage creativity and get a child’s story in print. This Children’s Book Printing Service in the UK works particularly well for:

Process
How the Little Thinking process works
1. Initial enquiry
You email us with a short description of the project: who wrote it, how long it is, whether you have illustrations, and how you hope to use the finished books.
2. Confirmation & payment
If the project is a good fit, we confirm the details of the £150 basic package (and any optional extras), and take payment before work begins.
3. Light editing & layout
We carry out light edits on the text, set up the interior layout and prepare files for printing, checking that everything looks clear and readable.
4. Proof & sign-off
You see a digital proof of the book (and, if needed, a printed proof) to check names, dedications, layout and any illustrations before we print your 10 copies.
5. Printing & delivery
Once you sign off, we arrange printing and delivery of your 10 copies to your chosen address in the UK.
6. Amazon listing guidance
If you’d like to list the book on Amazon, we’ll provide clear written guidance (and optional short support session) to help you through the process.
Options
Extra copies & additional support
The £150 basic Children’s Book Printing Service UK family package is designed to be a simple starting point. If you need more than 10 copies, or extra support, we can usually offer:
- Additional copies at a per-book cost, agreed in advance.
- Small tweaks to layout for different versions (for example, a school and a family edition).
- Optional online launch sessions or school/club celebration events (availability-dependent).
Any extras or larger print runs will always be costed separately and discussed before you decide to go ahead.
